The selected photographs can be viewed on the competition website: PHotoFUNIBER'22 .
Among the winners, there are four awards that were won by popular vote. In total, 1,310 people voted to help select the winners. The most voted photo was Pintura en instagram database Tigua , by Julio Andrés Esquivel Soria, from Ecuador, with 482 votes.
In addition to the voting by public vote, we have the Jury of Honor, made up of renowned photographers, who have defined four winners, one from each category, plus six special prizes ( two for FUNIBER scholarship holders , two for undergraduate students from the European University of the Atlantic and two for students from the International University of Cuanza ).

To select the winners, the jury members took into account the story they sought to tell, the originality of the images and their suitability for the theme of each category.
Mónica de Miranda , a member of the jury, comments on the photograph Tigres del Calalá , by Carlos Alberto Sánchez Álvarez, which won the Heritage category, by decision of the Honorary Jury: “there is a dynamism in the colors, in addition to providing a fable in the body gestures, with the depth of field working in favor,” she says.
Another winning photograph, Fogo , by José Carricondo, in the Nature category, denounces the fires in Brazil. As Silvana Mendes , from the Honorary Jury, comments, “the photograph is realistic and tragic. However, it looks like an abstract painting because of the shapes and colors. But, when we look closely, it is the charred forest.”
In the Abstract category, Felipe Tomás Jiménez Ordóñez received the Jury Prize for his photograph Paisajes oníricos , where the imagination comes out of the book. Diogo Thompson Facanha Ribeiro also won the prize for his photograph Inversões , in the Photojournalism category.
