What is the RACE Model?

The RACE Model, also known as the Spiral Model, was established in 1963 by John Martson in the book “The Nature of Public Relations” as a strategic planning method for public relations . The objective of this model was to create a system that would help us better structure our marketing actions , as well as define each of the objectives that we pursue at any given time.

What is the RACE Model?

Reach : This is the first phase of all, the objective of which is to make the brand known to the public.
Act : Once the brand has become known, it is time to get a potential customer to interact with it.
Convert : If we have already achieved the interaction we were looking for, it means that the user is already a lead , therefore, we must get them to become a client.
Engage : This is the last phase of the purchasing process . It involves building loyalty among all customers who have purchased so that they will do so again, thereby establishing a long-lasting relationship with them.


In order to achieve the objectives set by the RACE model, it is proposed to do so through achievements. That is, to establish a series of objectives, translated as actions, and thus achieve what the RACE model proposes .

What is the RACE Model for?
The main objective of the RACE Model is to enable companies to establish a better structured and easy-to-follow marketing plan . If a marketing plan is not well defined with a schedule of actions, it will be very difficult to carry out and we will surely end up going by inertia, without a plan to follow, which will cause the objectives not to be met.
