CONTAINS Function in Power BI – Improving your Analysis
In today's lesson, I'll show you how to use the CONTAINS function in Power BI. This is a tool that isn't often talked about, but it can be extremely useful for improving your analyses in Power BI.
As the name suggests, this function checks whether a certain piece of information is present in our database, that is, whether the information is contained in our table.
I will show you step by step how to use the CONTAINS function in Power BI, so that you can incorporate it whenever you need to check whether information is present or not, thus facilitating your calculations.

Database Explanation
In the material available for download in this post, you will find the files we will use. Within them, the tables that will serve as our database are included.
The first is the sales table, containing information and the company's complete sales history:
Sales Table
The second is the returns table, which records the history of product returns:
Returns table
It is important to note that the products present in the returns table are also recorded in the sales table. Thus, within the sales table, we have both the sales that were effectively completed and those that were canceled.
Total Revenue
From our Sales table , we can calculate the company's total revenue by adding the values in the Revenue column.
