In the presence of Mifal HaPais Chairman Avigdor Itzhaki, Head of the Jordan Valley Regional Council Idan Greenbaum, and Orna Shimoni, founder of Beit Eyal, new fitness facilities were inaugurated at the Beit Eyal fitness center in Ashdot Yaakov.
Beit Eyal is a unique cultural, educational, health, sports and memorial center established in memory and in light of the legacy of Lieutenant Eyal Shimoni, who fell in the Lebanon War. Its purpose is to integrate remove background image people with disabilities with all levels of the community and it also includes the 'Lebanon Cedars Axis', which commemorates 1,398 martyrs of the Lebanese wars and those murdered by terrorists who infiltrated from Lebanon. During the Corona period, the center ran into financial difficulties. Mifal HaPais came to its aid with a donation through the Regional Council, which enabled the purchase of 30 new fitness facilities. Beit Eyal will continue to serve the residents of the Jordan Valley and the entire northern region.
According to Idan Greenbaum, head of the Jordan Valley Regional Council, "The Regional Council is happy to be a partner in the development of Beit Eyal, a center that is a center of attraction and pride for all Jordan Valley residents and the many visitors from all over the country. I would like to thank Avigdor Yitzhaki and Mafel HaPais for joining us in supporting the unique place that the dear Orna Shimoni founded, a place that allows for a rare combination of people with disabilities, disabled IDF soldiers, and the entire public, and we will continue to support and develop it in the future."
"Mifal HaPais is proud to be a partner in this wonderful project led by our partners in the Jordan Valley Regional Council and Beit Eyal," said Mifal HaPais Chairman Avigdor Itzhaky, "This is a one-of-a-kind cultural, educational, health, sports and memorial center, and I have no doubt that it will serve as an example and model for the integration of people with disabilities into the community, while promoting and fostering a healthier lifestyle for them and for all residents of the region, thus honoring the memory of the fallen and murdered who are commemorated in Beit Eyal and the legacy of the late Lieutenant Eyal Shimoni."
