Those walking through a forest park north of New York are now surprised by an unusual building that looks like a large overturned boat. To understand its coolest feature, you have to look closely at the photo - then you will see that its frame is formed by the trunks of living trees.

Its vaulted frame is formed by willows, a type of tree with a flexible trunk. Currently, they are supported by beams made of harvested wood, and the space between the trunks is protected from precipitation by wooden Bulk SMS Saudi Arabia roof tiles. In the future, when the willows gain strength and thickness, they will form the building's power frame.

The shape chosen by the architects, on the one hand, takes into account the trees' desire for smooth curves. On the other hand, it allows for additional trees to be grafted in at mid-height and a second floor, and possibly a third, or more, to be added.

“Technically, it can go up as many floors as your arches will allow,” says project author Mitchell Joachim.

In addition, not visible in the photo, there are niches and jute nets built into the walls, where plants of other species can be planted, and animals can organize nests and burrows, turning the living house into an entire ecosystem. Its creators say that the house should become not only a dwelling for humans, but also a kind of "terrestrial reef", which will become the basis for the coexistence of many species.
